How I Work

To commission a piece of furniture is a chance to indulge and let your imagination take over. This is just an outline of this fulfilling and fun process.

Contact me with a brief of what you might like and let me know any ideas you have, no matter how big or small. It will give us somewhere to start.

When we have a feel for it, I would suggest an informal meeting. Ideally this would be at your home or workspace to view the proposed location of the piece. This will give me an idea of your requirements and ensure the design is sympathetic to the surroundings, architecture and is personal to you. We will also be able discuss an outline budget at this point.

At our next meeting I will present my designs with a quote for your approval, there may be choices to make, tweaks to be done and details to be added but generally after this we should be ready to go. When you are entirely happy with all aspects of the proposed project, a 25% deposit is paid, a delivery date is agreed and I can begin the search for the best wood available.

When the making is under way, you are welcome to visit me at the workshop to view how your  piece is progressing.  It can be fascinating to see what goes into your creation.

On completion I will deliver and fit your commission personally.
